The application window is divided into four main areas:

+--------------------------------------------------------------+
Top Bar¶
The top bar spans the full width of the window and contains the primary controls.
Application Title¶
The left side of the top bar shows "GK Conveyor" -- the application name.
Mode Label¶
Displays the current validation mode. Examples:
- "Mode: Off" -- Validation is not running
- "Mode: AV50" -- AV50 validation is active
- "Mode: Teasdale" -- Teasdale validation is active
- "Mode: CargillRfid" -- CargillRfid validation is active
Validation Toggle¶
A toggle control with an LED indicator:
- "Validation On" (green LED) -- Validation workflow is actively running. The system is scanning items.
- "Validation Off" (off LED) -- Validation is stopped. Items passing through are not being scanned.
Tapping the toggle turns validation on or off. At some sites, this control is locked and requires a PIN to change.
Diagnostics Button (wrench icon)¶
A button labeled with a wrench icon. Tapping it opens or hides the Diagnostics Panel (a separate floating window). When the diagnostics panel is open, this button turns green. When closed, it is blue/gray.
Note: The diagnostics panel does not require a PIN to open. It provides read-only hardware status and testing controls.
See Diagnostics Panel Guide for details.
Settings Button (gear icon)¶
A button labeled with a gear icon. Tapping it opens the Settings dialog. This button requires PIN entry if PIN protection is enabled (which it is at all production sites).
Settings include timing parameters, network credentials (Teasdale), and PIN management. Changes to timing settings take effect immediately. Validation-related changes require stopping and restarting validation.
Left Panel -- History and Filters¶
Filter by Status¶
Three filter buttons at the top of the left panel:
- All -- Shows all scan results (pass and fail)
- Passed -- Shows only passing results
- Failed -- Shows only failing results
The active filter button is highlighted in blue. The others are gray.
Show Current / Live View Button¶
When you tap an item in the history list, the center panel shows that historical result instead of the most recent scan. A "Show Current" button appears to let you return to live view. This button is hidden when you are already viewing the current/live result.
History List¶
A scrollable list showing recent validation results. Each entry displays:
- Result -- "PASS" or "FAIL" with color coding (green background for pass, red for fail)
- Time -- When the scan occurred (HH:MM:SS format)
- Details -- For failures, a brief reason is shown
The most recent result is at the top. Tapping any entry shows its full details in the center panel.
Center Panel -- Last Validation Details¶
Status Color Bar¶
A thin colored bar at the very top of the center panel. Its color reflects the current system status:
| Color | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green | System ready / validation active |
| Orange | Warning or initializing |
| Red | Error condition |
| Black | Ready (idle) |
| Gray | Validation stopped |
Status Text¶
Below the color bar, a text label shows the current system state. Examples:
- "Status: Hardware initialized - Ready"
- "Status: Validation Active - Teasdale"
- "Status: Hardware warnings: Camera1"
- "Status: Initializing hardware..."
- "Status: Validation Stopped"
- "Status: Error: [error message]"
Last Scan Section¶
Shows details of the most recent (or selected historical) validation:
- "Last Scan" label with the result ("PASS" or "FAIL") and processing time in milliseconds
- Timestamp -- The time of the scan (HH:MM:SS)
- Result Display -- Large text showing "PASS" or "FAIL" in green or red
- Failure Reason -- For failed scans, the specific reason is displayed (e.g., "GTIN mismatch: expected X, found Y")
- Barcode Details -- The scanned barcode data is shown below the result
Scan Progress Panel (Teasdale mode only)¶
In Teasdale mode, when a DS9908 scanner is aggregating data, a progress panel appears showing:
- Which components have been collected (UCC-128 barcode, DataMatrix barcode, RFID tag)
- A countdown timer showing remaining time before timeout
- Completion status
This panel appears briefly during each scan and hides automatically after results are shown.
Camera Image (CargillSalt mode only)¶
At Cargill Hersey, the Insight camera sends images of what it scanned. These appear in a picture box in the center panel. This area is hidden at all other sites.
Right Panel -- Totals and Mode-Specific Controls¶
Totals Section¶
Displays running counts for the current session:
- Pass -- Number of items that passed validation
- Fail -- Number of items that failed validation
- Total -- Total number of items scanned (pass + fail)
These counts reset when you tap "Reset Counts" or when the application restarts.
Reset Counts Button¶
Taps to zero out all pass/fail/total counters. This is typically done at the start of a shift.
Clear Queue Button (ZFL mode only)¶
In ZFL mode, a "Clear Queue" button appears that clears the pending EPC queue. This is not visible in other modes.
AIS Submissions Panel (CargillRfid/Chipotle modes)¶
At sites with AIS export enabled, this area shows AIS submission statistics.
Camera Mode Selector (AV50 mode with 2 cameras)¶
At sites using AV50 mode with both front and side cameras (like Hormel), a dropdown appears here with options:
- Front Camera Only
- Side Camera Only
- Both Cameras
Teasdale Pallet Panel (Teasdale mode only)¶
In Teasdale mode, a panel appears at the bottom of the right side showing:
- Pallet Progress -- "Pallet 1 of 3 | Case 13 of 35"
- Print Additional Labels -- Button to request extra labels for the current pallet (opens a numeric keypad)
- Complete Partial Pallet -- Button to finish a pallet before it reaches full case count
- Pause Job / Resume Job -- Button to save the current job state and pause, or resume a previously paused job
These buttons are grayed out and disabled when no pallet is active.
Bottom Bar¶
A narrow bar at the bottom of the window showing the company logo (AbeTech). This is informational only and has no interactive controls.
Keyboard Shortcuts¶
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Ctrl+Shift+D | Toggle demo mode (for testing without live hardware) |
